Overview

This training covers the fundamentals of running Mac devices with Relution. From connecting DEP and VPP through device enrollment to the configuration of policies and device groups, participants learn the complete workflow.

Target Audience

Administrators, IT staff in companies, and service providers who manage Mac devices with Relution.

After the training, participants will be able to

  • set up DEP as well as apps and VPP,
  • enroll devices via DEP and manually,
  • run actions, and
  • create and configure policies and device groups.

Agenda and content

Training Content

1. DEP and Apps & VPP – Setup Basics

Basic understanding of DEP and of procuring/assigning apps via VPP, as well as linking to the Relution instance.

2. Device Enrollment via DEP and Manual Enrollment

Automatic enrollment via DEP compared to manual enrollment. Differences, prerequisites, and typical use cases.

3. Actions

Overview of available device actions in Relution (e.g. lock, wipe, messages, app management) and their targeted use in day-to-day operations.

4. Policies and Device Groups

4.1 Policies:

  • Wi-Fi – Configuring network profiles
  • App compliance – Defining allowed or required apps and handling deviations
  • Restrictions – Limiting device functions
  • Passcode – Requirements for passcode and complexity
  • App Store restrictions – Controlling access to the App Store
  • Dock – Configuring the Dock
  • Web link – Providing web links
  • System updates – Controlling OS updates

4.2 Device Groups Static and dynamic device groups: manual assignment compared to rule-based, automatic grouping and its effect on policy assignment.
