Silent Installation refers to the automatic installation of apps or software on end devices without requiring any action from the user. No installation dialogs, confirmation prompts, or setup steps appear on the device. The entire installation runs in the background, controlled by a central MDM system that transfers and configures the relevant app on the target devices.

The technical foundation for Silent Installation is the device's integration into an MDM system with the appropriate management rights. On iOS and iPadOS devices, this requires the devices to be supervised and enrolled in the MDM via Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager.
