Relution Server 5.30
iOS
Optimized user management for Shared iPads with Managed Apple Accounts
For Shared iPads with Managed Apple Accounts, Relution version 5.30 allows a list of classes to be configured directly on the device. These classes are then available for selection on the login screen, which simplifies and speeds up the login process. An important prerequisite for this is that the Managed Apple Account is stored in the Relution user accounts.
On the preconfigured login page for Shared iPads, the profile pictures of the accounts are also displayed - if stored in Relution. Uploading these images is now also possible via bulk upload: A ZIP file with appropriately named images can be uploaded so that the profile images of several users are set at the same time.
This requirement can be ensured, for example, via the ASM user import, which has been enhanced with two new functions in version 5.30:
- The assignment of existing Relution users to ASM accounts can now be done more flexibly using customizable comparison fields.
- Imported users can be assigned passwords so that they can log in without a separate OpenID Connect login provider.
Automatic migration of the iOS app family
The app family was introduced with version 5.11. A migration assistant previously supported the change from the previous combined Relution app to the new structure. This migration assistant will now be removed. If the migration was not previously carried out, it will now be done automatically.
macOS
New configurations for macOS
Various new configurations are now available for macOS, eliminating the need to manually create configuration profiles with the Apple Configurator. These settings can be used to manage the following areas of the operating system directly:
- Time Machine - Specify the backup behavior of the device
- Firewall - Enable or disable the firewall and specific permissions for individual apps
- Dock - Specify the dock layout and the elements it contains
- Login elements - Specify which applications are started automatically when logging in
- Parental controls - configuration of screen time, web filters and other restrictions
- Kernel extensions - release certain kernel extensions for the user
- System extensions - release certain system extensions for the user.
PKG apps
Recognition rules can now be defined for PKG apps to verify successful installation on the device. These rules are also available in the app compliance policy.
Optimized WiFi configuration for Android Enterprise enrolment
When enrolling with Android Enterprise, the new version of Relution allows WiFi configurations to be transferred directly. This eliminates the need to set up the connection manually during the enrollment process.
Support for custom CSP policies
Relution's MDM interface uses Configuration Service Provider (CSP) policies to manage Windows devices. With the new custom configuration, any CSP policies can be combined into one or more “Custom CSP” configurations and applied to Windows devices. This means that the functions that can be used via the MDM interface are only limited by the available CSP policies. Further information can be found in our manual.
