Relution Server 5.26
Relution Shield
Relution Shield combines Virtual Private Network (VPN), Private Key Infrastructure (PKI) and UEM - MDM. For organizational communication, this means triple-secured access from and to the outside. The intranet is optimally protected by the highest security standards and the proven quality of Relution's device management. More information can be found on our website: https://relution.io/news/relution-shield
PKI connection via SCEP
The connection of certification authorities has been extended so that SCEP-based PKIs can also be connected via a challenge secret. This enables the connection of various products such as Smallstep or SCEPman in addition to the connection of the Microsoft CA.
Enrollment type for interactive whiteboards
Previously, Relution only supported one manufacturer of Android Classic-based boards, which made it difficult to manage multiple manufacturers at the same time. The Relution Android Companion App could only be provided for one manufacturer in such cases.
The new version now introduces support for multiple manufacturers. You can now select the specific manufacturer during enrollment. The appropriate Relution Companion App is then offered for installation on the corresponding enrollment landing page. The update process also takes the selected manufacturer into account to ensure smooth management of multiple Android boards from different manufacturers.
In version 5.26, the enrollment type was introduced for the manufacturers Promethean, Clevertouch, SMART and Prowise. Further manufacturers will be supported in the next version.
Transfer contact information
In order to be able to forward critical information and notifications to administrators, the e-mail addresses of the administrators of the global organization will be transferred to Relution.
This makes it possible to contact administrators directly in the event of any malfunctions or urgent need for action, thus ensuring a rapid response.
The protection of your data remains guaranteed and the e-mail addresses are transmitted exclusively for this specific purpose.
Device groups - filters
The properties for the lending function can now be used in the device groups. This makes it easy to implement notifications when the lend limit is exceeded, for example.
Audit log
The audit log is now also available to the administrators of the individual organizations.
Apple School Manager (ASM) Synchronization
Relution offers support for importing groups, users and classes from the Apple School Manager (ASM). A corresponding connection can be configured in the settings of the organizations or globally, after which Relution imports the corresponding objects fully automatically in the background, similar to LDAP.
Extension of the configurations
There are additional configurations for Android Enterprise.
The installation priority can be used to specify the order in which apps are installed on the device. This ensures that apps that are prerequisite for others are installed first.
Wi-Fi networks can be allowed or excluded via the SSID name. Configuring a connection on the device is not prevented by this, but the connection to it is.
The brightness level of the screen and the screen time out by inactivity can be managed.
Winget integration (BETA)
In Relution, there are various options for distributing apps on Windows devices. Previously, apps could be obtained from the Microsoft Windows Store or added by uploading MSI, EXE and MSIX files. Detection rules had to be defined for the installation of MSI and EXE files in order to recognize a successful installation.
To make app distribution even easier and more versatile, we integrated Winget, the Windows Package Manager, as an additional source for app deployment. Winget is a command line tool developed by Microsoft that facilitates the installation, updating, uninstallation and management of software packages under Windows. It is available as standard from Windows 10 (version 1809) and Windows 11.
With the new "Winget Store App" entry in the Relution App Store, you can now browse and add applications directly from the Winget catalog. These apps can be distributed to your devices as usual via actions, auto-deployments or the "App Compliance" configuration.
From December 2024, all new Relution versions will automatically switch to the use of Relution device groups. These device groups allow administrators to structure devices clearly, which makes it much easier to assign and apply policies.
In addition, the rule sets will be replaced by device group actions, ensuring more efficient and intuitive administration.
