Relution Server 5.25

Relution

Audit log

The audit log has been added to the "Settings" section of the Global Organization. The audit log is a chronological record of activities that have taken place within the Relution Server. The log contains information about logins and login attempts as well as write and delete operations initiated by users. It is used to ensure the integrity and security of Relution. The audit log is stored for 180 days. After this period, the older entries are automatically deleted.

Enhancement for device group actions

It is now possible to configure webhooks as an action in the device groups. This allows further automation to be implemented between third-party systems. In addition, the deletion of devices has been added as a further device group action. This enables the automatic deletion of devices. Please use this function with caution, as the devices must be re-enrolled in the event of a misconfiguration.

Apple

Configure notifications

The new notifications configuration can be used to configure how and in which context the notifications should be displayed for each app. This can be used, for example, to ensure that certain push notifications reach the user directly and do not first require their consent. The notifications are permitted by default for the Relution apps.

Setup Assistant configuration for iOS and macOS

When creating a new user account, the user is guided through a setup wizard. With the new configuration, the steps analogous to the DEP profile can be skipped.

FileVault configuration

With the new FileVault configuration for macOS, security-relevant settings can be made for the encryption of the device.

Certificate selection

The selection options for certificates have been expanded in the certificate and Exchange configuration. It is now possible to select both user certificates and the certificate template of a PKI directly.

Windows

VPN configuration extensions

The Windows VPN configuration has been extended to allow either split tunneling or per-app VPN configurations. This allows you to define which data traffic or which application should be routed through the VPN.

Apps

Teacher App

There is a new option in the Teacher App within the lesson profile. It is now possible to specify a single app (either iOS or Android) to be launched in the foreground on student devices. Students will not be able to leave the app during this time.

Please ensure that sufficient VPP licenses are available and that there is a stable network connection to ensure smooth use of this feature.

Agent macOS

The Relution Agent is now also available for macOS devices.

General changes

With version 5.25, support for Microsoft SQL Server has been removed. Please migrate your databases to MariaDB or PostgreSQL.

In order to always be up to date and to be able to use continuous enhancements and convenience functions in Relution, all subsequent Relution versions will be automatically converted to the Relution device groups from December 2024. These groups allow administrators to clearly structure mobile devices in their organization, which makes it much easier to assign and apply policies. In addition, the previous Relution rule sets will be replaced by the device group actions, which will also contribute to more efficient administration.
