Relution Server 5.31
Support of the School-Connex interface for user import
With version 5.31, Relution now also supports the School-Connex API - a modern, standardized interface (API) for synchronizing identities and school context data.
Schools can use it to easily, securely and automatically transfer student data, user groups and other relevant information from a central directory to Relution.
The Schul-Connex API complements existing options such as LDAP, Entra ID or CSV files. Configuration is carried out via a simple user interface and is ideal for use in school IT infrastructures.
Central display of user logins in the audit log
To improve clarity and efficiency, the previously separate login history of individual users has been transferred to the central audit log. Previously, administrators had to call up the login history of each individual user to find out when they last logged in. From now on, all user logins are recorded system-wide in the audit log and displayed centrally.
New authorization for location details
The location information has been removed from the general device details. The location query is now linked to a separate authorization. If this authorization exists, the location action can be triggered. This increases data protection.
Email notification when VPP/DEP tokens expire
To improve user-friendliness and process security, Relution now automatically informs administrators by email when VPP and DEP tokens are about to expire. A separate notification is sent for each affected token - so all deadlines remain in view.
Simplified configuration for Apple Account-Driven User Enrollment
With iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2 and macOS 15.2, Apple supports a new, simplified service discovery for Account-Driven User Enrollment. As an alternative to a DNS entry with a web server, the MDM server can now be stored and verified directly via the Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager connection.
Relution now supports this new method. If the option is activated in the customer's environment, registration takes place automatically. This greatly simplifies the setup - especially for organizations where manual DNS and web server configuration has so far led to technical challenges.
Maximum OS version for system updates
With Relution version 5.31, a maximum operating system (OS) version to be installed via configuration can be defined in the system update configuration. This allows you to precisely control the OS version up to which automatic updates are installed on devices by policy.
Note on the wallpaper action of iOS
If there are problems with the wallpaper action on iPads, we recommend updating to at least iOS/iPadOS 18.5. In earlier versions, there may be restrictions on the execution of the iOS action.
Direct access to the Managed Play Store
In order to be able to check Android apps better and faster, the Google Managed Play Store is now directly accessible via the Android Enterprise settings in Relution with Relution Release 5.31.
Previously, an app compliance configuration was required. Now administrators can specifically check which apps are available in certain countries, languages or on certain devices - without having to create a policy beforehand.
Post-installation scripts for Windows Native Apps
From Relution version 5.31, post-installation scripts can be stored for Windows Native Apps (*.exe, .msi). These are executed automatically after the app has been installed - for example to create configuration files or make further adjustments. The scripts can be managed in a separate tab within the app configuration.
This extension offers more flexibility in the distribution and post-processing of Windows applications and simplifies automated setup scenarios.
New board manufacturer: i3
Relution now supports interactive whiteboards from the manufacturer i3. The devices are based on Android Classic and can now be managed centrally via the Relution platform.
Relution thus enables standardized device management across all manufacturers. Support for i3 significantly expands the range of compatible devices - especially for use in educational establishments and public institutions.
The basic configuration for the devices can be found at i3-Technologies. Further functions such as OTA updates and hotspot support are planned.
Note: The communication interface for using the current Android Enterprise functions has been adapted to a new interface. For all on-premises customers who manage Android Enterprise devices, a timely update to Relution Server version 5.31 is required. The previous, outdated interface will be switched off on 31.09.2025.
