New partnership: Relution & OPSI

Integration for comprehensive device management

Relution and OPSI are combining their strengths and merging their portfolios. The aim of the partnership is to provide schools and IT administrations with an even more powerful and integrated solution for device management.

For the management of Windows devices, the Unified Endpoint Management (UEM)/Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution Relution is being expanded with the addition of image and automation functions from OPSI. Both products will continue to exist side by side, but are now technically linked: devices managed via OPSI will in future be directly enrolled in Relution.

OPSI – professional management of Windows, Linux, and macOS devices

OPSI is the open-source solution for automated device management from UIB, developed in Germany. It enables centralized management of Windows, Linux, and macOS devices across all locations and covers the entire lifecycle of a device – from operating system installation and software distribution to updates and configuration management.

In combination with Relution, OPSI enables the automated reinstallation of Windows devices based on Windows ISOs or images. After installation, the device logs directly into Relution and is immediately available for central management. This creates a secure, privacy-friendly alternative to cloud-based deployment models and strengthens Microsoft independence.

Added value through integration

The combination of OPSI and Relution results in holistic device management: While OPSI takes care of imaging, operating system installation, and in-depth automation, Relution handles central control, transparency, and UEM.

“The partnership with OPSI greatly expands our capabilities. The image functionality in particular perfectly complements Relution and enables our customers to manage their devices even more efficiently,” – Stefan Jauker, CTO of Relution.

“With Relution, we are gaining a strong partner in the UEM/MDM sector. Together, we offer schools and IT teams an integrated solution that optimally combines automation, overview, and security,” – [Dr. Bardo Wolf], co-founder and managing director of UIB.

The merger of the portfolios means greater convenience, less effort, and maximum flexibility for schools and IT teams. Device management, software images, and updates can now be controlled centrally, while both solutions retain their respective strengths. The result is an integrated solution without compromise that simplifies everyday school life in the long term.
