Relution receives BSI certification for secure mobile device management
Relution sets new standard for certified IT security in mobile device management (Common Criteria EAL 4+)
Relution is currently undergoing certification by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) for Common Criteria EAL 4+ (ISO/IEC 15408) certification. This underscores Relution's commitment to verified IT security, reliable data protection, and transparency in mobile device management—not just on paper, but actively tested.
The Common Criteria (CC) are an internationally recognized standard for evaluating the security of IT products. The test is carried out in seven Evaluation Assurance Levels (EAL 1–7). The targeted level EAL 4+ confirms that the **MDM system is methodically developed and comprehensively tested. The in-depth analysis and complete source code review is carried out by the testing laboratory.
Comprehensive security testing for maximum reliability
Relution is evaluated in its entirety:
- Data encryption and cryptography used
- Secure communication channels and MDM server operation
- Development and quality processes
- Security-related documentation and operating concepts
The evaluation is based on two protection profiles for mobile device management systems published by the BSI, which define the security requirements that an MDM must meet. In addition, the security target created by Relution describes how these requirements are implemented in practice.
The test is carried out by a BSI-approved testing laboratory (Secuvera) and includes penetration tests, source code analysis, and review of the development processes. The BSI will award certification based on the test report.
“BSI certification is a major milestone for us. The fact that Relution is actively undergoing a complete source code and process audit demonstrates our commitment to providing particularly secure mobile device management for government agencies, education, and critical infrastructure.” – Stefan Jauker, CTO Relution
Benefits for users
With BSI certification, Relution offers:
- Officially tested security standard for MDM
- Proven minimization of risk for data leaks and manipulation
- Maximum confidence in architecture and development quality
- An important prerequisite for use in KRITIS environments and for VS-NfD
- Seamless integration into certified security ecosystems such as Apple Indigo and Samsung Knox
With this certification, Relution demonstrates that IT security is not a marketing promise, but an actively validated, verifiable quality standard.
