Relution in paed.ML Windows 5.4: Efficient and data protection-compliant MDM for schools
With the introduction of paed.ML Windows 5.4, Relution will be integrated as a mobile device management (MDM) system into the educational model solution of the LMZ Baden-Württemberg. This provides schools with a powerful solution for the central management of mobile devices such as tablets and iPads.
Why Relution?
After extensive testing of various MDM solutions, the paed.ML Windows development team opted for Relution - in particular because of its GDPR compliance. Sensitive data, such as that of students, remains locally on the school server, which ensures maximum security.
Simple integration and operation
Relution also offers a seamless interface to the paed.ML user management system. Already stored user data such as name, class and school assignment are automatically available in Relution. Teachers can therefore easily manage and control devices and, if necessary, restrict functions in real time.
Wide range of applications
Relution supports the management of Android and Apple devices as well as Windows devices and interactive whiteboards. It offers solutions for school-owned and parent-financed devices, which means that hybrid models can also be managed efficiently.
Focus on data protection and automation
“A local relution server within the paed.ML server landscape ensures that all data remains on site,” says Philip Fahrner, developer in the paed.ML Windows (LMZ) team and teacher at the secondary school. At the same time, schools benefit from automated processes such as device profiles for project days or individualized directories that enable device- and location-independent work.
Quick installation
Schools can choose whether they want to install paed.ML Windows 5.4 with or without the Relution extension. If Relution is selected, two additional virtual machines are installed by the school's IT service provider. Within a few minutes, the MDM is active via the school console and ready for use.
Conclusion: The future of device management in schools
Schools benefit from a modern, data protection-compliant and efficient solution that facilitates teaching and IT management in equal measure.
With Relution, paed.ML Windows 5.4 becomes a comprehensive solution for everyday digital school life. With the integration of MDM into the school system, users of mobile devices have location-independent access to their paed.ML home and exchange directories and can work flexibly. In addition to simplified, standardized device management - even remotely - Relution also enables the secure distribution of apps and software via well-known app stores and soon directly from the school console.
