Static device groups

Static device groups are used to manually organize devices into groups to assign them specific policies, configurations, or access restrictions. Unlike dynamic device groups, whose contents update automatically based on predefined rules, devices in static groups retain their fixed assignment. Changes within the group are made exclusively by administrators, allowing for precise control. This type of device group is particularly suited for environments where stability and fixed assignments are crucial.

From a technical perspective, static device groups provide a clear structure for IT resources, which is especially useful for fixed device assignments. Administrators can ensure that devices are only used for their intended tasks and that all configurations are precisely defined.
